My New Love

Love is a funny “fickle” thing. We hear people say, “man, I love that” or “I love it when (fill in the blank) happens” or the most incredible feeling is when someone says to you “I love you”. Growing up a child loves their parents and family members and then we have our very first love.

The first time I saw each one of my children, I did not think I could love someone so much. How could someone so tiny and helpless make my heart so full? Then, they grow up and begin their own lives. Isn’t that what we are supposed to teach them? Become responsible free thinking adults, take care of yourself and create your own lives….. And so, they do.

On December 29, 2011, I fell in love – again. Kollin Ambrose Cummings came into this world with full beautiful lips, a head of hair like his mommy and the most precious face with a dimple that I am sure God himself put there. Yes, my heart melted. Yes, I believe he is the most adorable child ever created. I truly did not know I could love so much. I remembered at the hospital while holding him, something I overheard someone say a long time ago, “a baby is God’s way of saying everything is going to be okay”.

Watching your children become parents is hard to describe. We need to be there for them, much like our parents were, but at the same time, we need to let them learn on their own. After all, they are adults.

When I started this blog I was never really sure what I would have to say; it became a way for me to share my photos and motorcycle trips. Please humor me today as I share my love, Kollin. I should mention that Kollin's proud parents are Kyle and Erin Cummings!

These are just a few of my favorite photos and I can assure you that over the coming months and years, there will be many, many more!

The month of January has flown. I hope that you take the time to think about what love means to you.

Peace and love, Pam
